Traveling to and in South Brionnais

Car

The Sud Brionnais is a crossroads. Located between Charolais, Roannais, and close to the Lyon region, there are many and varied routes to access it.
Access to the A6 motorway is either via Chalon sur Saône, using the N70 and then the N80, or via Mâcon using the N79. Access to the RCEA/N79 is at Charolles. The D985 road crosses the Sud Brionnais from north to south, connecting Charolles (N79 / RCEA) and Chauffailles. The D989 leads to Saint Christophe en Brionnais. The D987 connects to Matour and also allows for travel towards Lyon via the Écharmeaux and the Azergues valley.

Train

The TER service is available with the SNCF stations La Clayette/Baudemont and Chauffailles, which connect Lyon in 1 hour and 20 minutes with several round trips available daily during the week (TER line Paray le Monial - Lyon).
Two TGV stations are also nearby:
Mâcon Loché (Paris - Lyon - Geneva) and Montchanin (Paris - Lyon - Marseille), both about 45 minutes away.

Aircraft

If you're travelling from a more distant destination, compare the TGV and air travel options. For example, it is often more practical to travel by TGV from Frankfurt or Barcelona than by plane, taking into account waiting times at the airport and baggage constraints.
If you choose or need to fly, it is advisable to land at Lyon Saint-Exupéry airport, then take the direct train to the 'La Clayette/Baudemont or Chauffailles' train station.

The nearest marina is in Digoin. For river freight, the port of Chalon sur Saône is a one-hour drive away.
