  • Château de La Clayette

The Chateau of La Clayette was erected in 1380 on the edge of the lake. It is surrounded by moats, making it one of the most picturesque sites in Burgundy.

The Chateau was renovated in the 18th Century with the addition of a pavilion and the development of formal French gardens with an orangery and an observation tower. In the 19th century the Chateau was remodelled in the neo-gothic and neo-renaissance style. Since 1722 it has belonged to the Noblet family, who still live there.

New in 2020 : The Tourist Office is organising guided visits to the external parts of the Chateau every Tuesday and Thursday from 10am, from May to the end of October (with access to the courtyard, park, orangery, kitchens and stables).

Information and reservations are available by calling 03 85 28 16 35, or by visiting the tourist office beside the main entrance to the chateau.
