Joël Montigny is delighted to return to La Clayette to exhibit at the Espace Sainte Avoye for the final time; he will be signing copies of his 15th book, his memoir *Nostalgie Heureuse*, illustrated with a wealth of previously unpublished photographs. Exhibition of paintings: portraits, landscapes and scenes from everyday life. A positive and poetic vision of the world.
Over the course of 44 years, this portraitist to the stars has illustrated 60 books and written 15, including *Nostalgie Heureuse*. Joël has forged a beautiful bond of love and loyalty with his audience. Dreaming of making art accessible to all, and drawing inspiration from the actors and singers he rubs shoulders with, Montigny sets off every year on a six-month exhibition tour to meet the public. We remember his major, highly publicised exhibitions, such as “Noces Barbares” based on Queffelec, “Couleurs pour l’Abbé Pierre”, sponsored by Robert Hossein, “Duo pour une expo” with Hugues Aufray, ‘Fantasmagories de Fellini’ at the Palais Royal and ‘Mémoire d’Enfance’ at Paris City Hall. Montigny has appeared on numerous radio and television programmes, and over a thousand articles have been written about him.
